Two Louisiana Workers Killed in Less Than One Year at Louisiana Plywood Employer

Reports indicate that on April 21, 2025, 26-year-old Britt Gilliam was injured in an accident at his place of work at the wood products company just north of Pollock. Although emergency medical personnel and first responders attempted to save Gilliam’s life, he was ultimately transported to a nearby hospital, where he sadly passed away. There were no further details about how Gilliam was injured or what led up to the fatal workplace accident.

Unfortunately, this was not the first death at the wood products company. Prior to the death of Britt Gilliam, 28-year-old Shaun Hicks was killed in a workplace accident at Hunt Plywood. Hicks was killed in late September, 2024, when he was involved in a workplace accident “involving machinery at the mill.” At the time of the most recent reports on the accident, there were no further details about how the accident occurred.
