A terrible and fatal car accident took the life of one young girl this week in Mississippi, and the tragic case raises awareness among Mississippi parents about asserting claims under Mississippi wrongful death laws. According to local news reports, on the evening of Sunday, June 15, 12-year-old Addilynn Robbins, of Mississippi, was killed in a car accident that occurred in Union County. The fatal accident happened on County Road 51. Two adults were injured in the crash, and they were airlifted to the hospital. Unfortunately, Robbins died at the scene of the accident.

Young Addilynn Robbins was reported to have attended North Pontotoc Upper Elementary School. North Pontotoc Elementary School released the following message about the tragic accident, “It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic loss of one of our beloved students, Addie Robbins, a 6th grader at North Pontotoc Upper Elementary, who passed away in a car accident last night. Addie was more than just a student—she was a light in our halls. Known for her kindness, compassion, and caring heart, Addie had a special way of looking out for others. She often reached out to our school counselor and administrators to make sure the needs of her fellow students were being met. She truly embodied the spirit of empathy and service beyond her years.”

Details regarding what exactly led up to the terrible accident that claimed the 12-year-old’s life and injured two others were not available at the time of the most recent reports on the accident. The investigation is ongoing, and it remains to be seen what will happen to the two other injured persons, and whether any charges will be filed.

When a Child is Killed in a Car Accident in Mississippi, What Can Mississippi Parents Do?

In light of the fatal car accident that killed 12-year-old Addilynn Robbins, it is important for Mississippi parents and families to know about their rights under Mississippi wrongful death laws if a tragic and terrible accident claims the life of their loved one.
