The fatal work accident occurred earlier this month on August 20. The fatal work accident happened in a wooded area about a mile from Hannah Road between Flowers and the Oak Ridge Community, in Warren County. Although few details have been released about the terrible workplace accident, reports indicate that a coworker found the logging worker and called first responders. First responders pronounced Temple deceased at the scene of the accident. The investigation into the terrible and fatal workplace accident is ongoing, and it remains to be seen if any further action will be taken in the case.

Skid Steers and Your Safety in Mississippi Workplaces

There is no question that skid steers can be dangerous and deadly to Mississippi workers. Safety experts state that when it comes to skid steers, “Hazards associated with skid-steer machines include runovers and entrapments. Runovers happen to operators who fall out of the machine while operating it; workers on the ground that are assisting the skid-steer operator; riders in buckets; and bystanders. Riders in buckets and bystanders are often young children.” They also note that, “Other hazards include hydraulic system failure; lack of visibility immediately around the machine; slips and falls from improper mounting and dismounting; and being crushed by falling objects.” It is clear that workers who work with and around skid steers must be extremely careful and should follow all safety rules and guidance when operating and working around skid steers.
