Jared Martin
Attorney
Jared Martin has focused exclusively on representing injured workers since 2011, nearly his entire legal career. At Lunsford, Baskin & Priebe, he draws on that experience to help clients through the workers’ compensation process and secure the medical care and benefits the law entitles them to.
Because he practices in both Mississippi and Tennessee, Jared knows how choice-of-law rules decide which state’s workers’ compensation system governs a claim. He also knows how insurance carriers sometimes use those rules to steer a case toward the state that pays less. For workers who live in one state and work in the other, or were hired in one and hurt in the other, that question can shape the entire case, and Jared makes sure it is answered correctly.
Jared serves on the Executive Committee of the Workers’ Compensation Section of The Mississippi Bar and is licensed in Mississippi and Tennessee.
A native of Silver Creek, Mississippi, Jared is a graduate of the Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science. He earned his undergraduate degree and his law degree from the University of Mississippi, both magna cum laude. In law school he served on the Mississippi Law Journal and won the school’s top appellate advocacy and moot court competitions. Outside the office, Jared and his wife enjoy spending time with their three children at Ole Miss sporting events and outdoors on the river.
